Master of Science in Statistics and Data Science

Our Master of Science in Statistics and Data Science programme is an international study programme. It offers an education in statistics at high scientific level, in a range of tracks leading to challenging job-fields and supported by our research activities.  It has been accredited by the Royal Statistical Society (UK) until 2023-2024 included.

Consulting and Training was our historical embryo and remains a core business. We cover

  • Statistical support for researchers in the university and in external labs
  • Execution of projects for government and industry, in service or in partnership
  • Short courses, and in-house courses on demand.

Research

LStat hosts international experts and is a stimulating environment for multidisciplinary statistical research. More information

LStat is a privileged meeting space for statistics researchers from a range of domains:

  • Biostatistics
  • Social, Behavioural and Educational Statistics
  • Business and Industrial Statistics
  • Statistical Methodology

Flames

Flanders Training Network for Methodology and Statistics (FLAMES) is an inter-university training network rooted in the five Flemish universities. 

This network aims to support doctoral students and young empirical researchers in their pursuit of best-in-class training in methodology and statistics.

  • Info sessions start academic year:
    • 27 September at 10.30: info session for first-year students of Master of Statistics and Data Science. This session can be followed online  or on campus in aula A 01.27, Building C, Campus Arenberg III, Celestijnenlaan 200 in Heverlee. See map of the campus.
    • 27 September at 14.00: Info session for second-year students of Master of Statistics and Data Science. This session can be followed online or on campus in  aula A 01.27, Building C, Campus Arenberg III, Celestijnenlaan 200 in Heverlee. See map of the campus
    • 28 September at 15.00 : Info session for students of the QASS program. This session can only be followed on campus in aula 01.28, Monseigneur Sencie-instituut, Erasmusplein 2 in 3000 Leuven (centre). First lesson of 'From problem to analysis' will be given in that same aula at 17.00.
