  2. As courses are taught in English, proven proficiency in English is required for non-native English speakers.

To apply for the 1 year Quantitative Analysis in the Social Sciences (QASS) track, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  1. Hold a Master degree in political and social sciences, economics and applied economics, pedagogic and psychological sciences, communication sciences, social geography or commercial engineering  or have a 4 years bachelor degree in one of these disciplines.

Evidently, students from a different background, with sufficient knowledge of mathematics, statistics and information technology, including but not limited to mathematics, physics, history, law, arts, ..., are also welcome to apply. The Admission Board will be glad to consider their application.

  2. Have sufficient knowledge of mathematics, statistics and information technology (this means you can show proof of three substantive courses in statistics spread over at least two years)
  3. Can provide evidence of proficiency in the English language

Students who would like to apply for the 1 year QASS track should apply for the Master of Science in Statistics programme using the normal procedure. In addition they should include a motivation letter stating that they would like to do the one year QASS track. Please indicate as well if you would like to do the standard Master of Science in Statistics programme in the case that you are not accepted for the short QASS track.

Flemish students who obtained a degree at a Flemish University and who would like to do the QASS track have to follow the general registration procedure of the KULeuven, but need an admission letter to register.

Admission is at the discretion of the Admission Committee. Based on the evidence submitted, the admission committee will make a decision.
